Glen C. Sheffer was born in Angola, Indiana in 1881 and died in Chicago, Illinois on September 11, 1948. He studied at Denison University, the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art. He studied privately with H. Larvin in Vienna and with W. D. Goldbeck in Chicago. His memberships included the Palette and Chisel Club and the Cameo Salon in Chicago and the Scarab Club in Detroit. Sheffer exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Detroit Institute of Art, Ainslie Gallery, the Chicago Gallery Association and the Palette and Chisel Club where he won a medal in 1946.
